The Karl Storz Lithotripsy-America (KSLA) Modulith F-2 Advanced Applications programs are designed to provide the allied health professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to properly operate the Modulith SLX-F2 lithotripter and its accompanied imaging system.

KSLA Applications Specialists and Engineers instruct participants. This program provides both advanced didactic lithotripsy and imaging theory. Each topic is supported with labs designed to reinforce the theory covered. The student will learn how to perform preventive maintenance checks on the system as well as replace common parts and assemblies.


The individual(s) attending or participating in the Karl Storz Lithotripsy-America (KSLA) Modulith SLX-F2 Advanced Applications programs MUST have a solid understanding of the basic fundamental principles of lithotripsy. The KSLA Advanced Applications courses are designed with the understanding that all students attending have a minimum 3 months of lithotripsy experience in addition to:

  • Knowledge and understanding of imaging systems
  • Knowledge of radiographic and fluoroscopic anatomy
  • Some mechanical skills
  • Minimum experience of 50 patient treatments
